The Renegar Golf Wedges represent a paradigm shift in golf club design from the 1930's Sarazen sole to a complete 21st century re-thinking of design for your modern short game.  We liked Sarazen's bounce sole for bunker play, but we did not like its raised leading edge for the rest of short game play.  So we fixed it with our patented improvement.

All Renegar Golf Rx12 wedges come standard with our Aldila-Renegar DTS Tour Control composite shaft that was developed specifically for wedge play – not for full swing irons play. And all of our wedges come standard with our Lamkin 3Gen wedges grip for better performance in delicate short game situations where maximum feel and control are essential. These components have already been custom designed and optimized for wedge play. No further custom shaft or grip choices are offered or available.

And, of course, all lofts of our wedges come standard with our utility-patented sole contour – providing better playability for every short game situation – and our CNC milled face and our proprietary V-43 Double-Milled grooves.

The general specifications for all lofts of our wedges include a standard length of 35.5 inches, an uncut shaft weight of 105 grams, lie angles of 63.5 degrees, and a total static weight of just over 450 grams. *Left-handed clubs are not yet available, but please look for an availability announcement in the near future.

Our proprietary new smaller grooves are designed to provide you with the sharpest legal groove edges and a maximum number of edges (32% more) - while retaining maximum groove volume. Forged heads with "stamped" grooves and "cast-in" grooves cannot even come close to the same manufacturing precision as our "CNC Double-Milling" process.

The residual CNC mill marks created by this process (right at USGA limits for roughness) add significantly to our spin generation formula from less than perfect lies. Note also how our residual CNC mill marks are oriented in a "frowning" orientation to maximize friction for spin generation compared to traditional "smiling" orientation.

Renegar-Lamkin Wedges Grip

The Renegar-Lamkin Wedges Grip is designed specifically for wedge play with its one inch longer length for choking down on shorter, more delicate shots and its increased lower hand diameters giving the player improved feel and control in those same high control situations. The 3-Gen material gives the player ultimate in durability and all-weather performance. This grip also gives the player the benefit of two locations marked with circles for choking-down consistently to achieve inter mediate distances.

Aldila Composite Shaft

The Aldila-Renegar DTS Tour Control Shaft is designed specifically for wedge play. Unlike a conventional irons shaft, it has a firmer than normal irons tip section and a much higher flex point - giving every player better control of distance, trajectory, and spin. The firmer tip (with 2.3 degrees torque) provides the player with greatly enhanced trajectory control - essential for complete distance control in ever y short game shot-making situation.

History

The foundation of our wedge is the improvement conceived and developed by our founder and chief designer, Bob Renegar. This first Rx12 Renegar wedge is the result of 18 years and four generations of research & development – including two issued patents. Our product designs are not "garage tinkering" or "custom grinds" like you see elsewhere in other wedges. Bob Renegar has become a legend in wedge design and now his talents are being put front and center with the patented Rx12 wedge line. Most other wedge companies have achieved true mediocrity with their wedge offerings – by simply offering different bounces on the traditional and relatively archaic Sarazen sole wedge first designed in 1930s. These manufacturers continue to suggest to golfers of the modern era that wedge technology really is not that important and true innovation cannot be achieved- we disagree.

Design

The Rx12 line is much more than just stories about custom grinds and big tour promotion budgets. Renegar golf's product line delivers a patented competitive advantage over every other wedge on the market. The Rx12 patented sole design gets the leading edge closer to the ground for more versatility on a wider range of shots from any lie. The bounce is there when you need and gone when you don't. The utility-patented wedge designs are the result of more than 18 years development. They are proven with a history of issued patents, broad usage in professional golf (including many professional Tour wins), robot testing and launch monitor player testing, and growing consumer acceptance. Cost is of little consideration to us when developing great products like these – they are the best, and the best usually costs a little more. Our first design objective was to create a sole that eliminated the traditional bounce sole by "thinking outside the bunker" from a design perspective. We understand that the great majority of short game play is NOT bunker explosion shots. It was this thinking that guided us to our patented sole that greatly improves the playing versatility of every Renegar wedge.
