Biography

Working with some of the game's biggest stars like Hunter Mahan, Tiger Woods, Sean O'Hair, Stephen Ames and Justin Rose, Sean is driven by a passion to help golfers evolve into the best players and people they can be.   He is renowned for his unmatched work ethic and ability to connect with students of all backgrounds - turning good players into great ones.   As evidenced in his cutting edge DVD, Sean Foley: The Next Generation, released in 2010, Sean takes a uniquely scientific approach to instruction; incorporating biomechanics, physics, philosophy and geometry into his teachings.   Currently the hottest name in golf instruction, he was featured on the cover of Golf Digest Magazine in November 2010 and has been named to their Top 20 Instructors Under Age 40.  Sean also maintains his commitment to the game's future generations through his work with countless junior golfers.

Born near Toronto to a Scottish father and Guyanese mother, much of Foley's boyhood was spent living with his family in cultural centers such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto. He is a graduate of Tennessee State University, where he played on the golf team, and majored in political science and philosophy.  He said learning to deal with being a minority on a campus that was predominantly black was a challenge that became one of the most important experiences of his life.   He is an avid reader and cites the stories of Malcolm X and Gandhi among those which have inspired him.

Sean currently lives in Orlando with his wife, Kate, and son, Quinn.  He teaches out of Orange County National.  His sponsors include Nike Golf and Golf Digest.
