TaylorMade SLDR 430 Driver

Better players who like to bend the ball to the right or left off the tee will love the TaylorMade SLDR 430 Driver, with its slightly smaller head size of 430cc that makes it easier to impart shot-shaping sidespin. Like the original, full-size TaylorMade SLDR driver, SLDR 430 is engineered with a low-forward CG location.

Positioning the CG low and forward dramatically changes the way a TaylorMade driver behaves at impact by promoting faster ball speed and a lower spin-rate – two of the three key ingredients that generate more distance. The third ingredient is an appropriately high launch angle. You can achieve that by increasing your loft (we call it “lofting up”) using SLDR 430’s Loft-Sleeve technology. The need to “loft up” with a low-forward CG is so essential that we’re offering SLDR 430 not only in 9.5° and 10.5°, but also 12°. If that sounds crazy, consider that numerous Tour pros are playing 12° SLDR drivers for one reason – they’re getting big boosts in distance.

SLDR 430 also incorporates the same innovative sliding weight mechanism TaylorMade introduced with the SLDR 460. A blue 20-gram weight slides on a track located on the front of the sole. This sliding weight shifts the clubhead’s CG horizontally toward either the heel, to promote a draw, or toward the toe, to promote a fade. SLDR movable weight technology delivers six millimeters of CG movement – that’s 50% more than the R1 driver – promoting a side-to-side trajectory change of up to 30 yards. The SLDR weight slides on a 21-point track system and never comes loose from the clubhead, and repositioning it is a quick and simple process.

TAKING IT LONGER.SOON IT WILL BE YOUR TURN.

When we develop a breakthrough at TaylorMade,
we bring it to golfers as soon as possible. Our new SLDR driver represents one of these great moments, as SLDR is the longest and easiest to adjust driver we've ever made. And by the feedback we're receiving, our Tour Pros agree. Since its debut on Tour, SLDR has already made its way into the bags of some of the best players in the world, with demand for its breakthrough performance building each and every week.

OUR LONGEST.THAT YOU MAKE EVEN LONGER.

To give the SLDR driver its remarkable distance,
we moved the center of gravity lower and forward for high launch and less spin. Then we reinvented our own innovation by completely rethinking movable weight technology to make it easier to use and better performing. Now you simply slide a single weight to tune SLDR to unlock even more yards.

Try SLDR with the weight in the neutral position, and you'll experience all the advancements that make this driver the longest we've ever made. Then unscrew the weight and move it toward "draw" or "fade"—up to twenty-one different positions. And you'll make our longest go even longer.

  • "I love the look, the shape, the color. It sounds different...I could really see the ball bouncing down the fairway, which I don't see a lot." – LUCAS GLOVER
  • "For the guys who are high-spin long hitters, it goes a mile. I hit one 362 yards on 13. It's a beast. With the sliding weight, I think you can pinpoint the right setting better." – TROY MATTESON
  • "My first swing with it was Monday at the Open Championship. The look, sound and distance were incredible. I've never put a new driver in my bag so fast, and never at a major." – DUSTIN JOHNSON
  • "Earlier this week there were guys fighting over this club because they only brought like 20 heads." – TROY MATTESON @ THE JOHN DEERE CLASSIC 07/08/13

Our longest. That you make even longer.

SLDR is built to help you hit longer/straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate and faster ball speed. That’s what makes SLDR our longest driver ever.*

SLDR’s CG location is both low and forward, due in large part to the large, 20-gram sliding weight on the sole. That promotes a dramatic leap in distance.

In addition to the low-forward CG benefits, the SLDR weight also represents a complete reinvention of movable weight, making it more effective and easier to use. Movable weight shifts the clubhead’s CG horizontally toward either the heel, to promote a draw, or toward the toe, to promote a fade. SLDR’s sliding weight allows you to shift the CG far enough to promote a side-to-side trajectory change of up to 30 yards.

The SLDR weight slides on the track and never comes loose from the clubhead. To slide the weight to any of the 21 positions on the track, simply loosen the screw, slide the weight, then tighten the screw. It takes as little as ten seconds. And the sole is marked with the words “fade” at the toe-end of the track and “draw” at the heel-end of the track to make it clear where you should position the weight to promote the shot-shape you want.

SLDR also incorporates our Loft-sleeve Technology, which allows you to adjust the loft. You can choose from 12 positions within a range of plus-or-minus 1.5 degrees of loft change. SLDR is available in three lofts – 9.5°, 10.5° and HL.

Aesthetically, SLDR’s confluence of shape, color and visual accents make it one of the most visually compelling clubs we’ve ever created. Its striking modern-classic shape, charcoal-gray crown and chrome “button-back” all adds up to a remarkably beautiful appearance at address. And the clean design of SLDR’s movable weight mechanism, including the single, blue weight and the track it slides in makes its appearance equally striking.
