A few weeks ago we had a chance to see the complete line up of new gear from Nike. The first to be available will be the Nike SQ MachSpeed Black Driver. It is available in both a round and square head. The new MachSpeed Black drivers from Nike are engineered to generate less aerodynamic drag, which of course translates into more clubhead speed. Both will also feature the adjustable STR8-FIT hosel allowing you to customize your driver. The Nike SQ MachSpeed Drivers will be available in late November. I must admit, that there is something to these black finishes, my current driver is black, and although I had not planned switching, then new MachSpeed black looks really good. Now that all the manufacturers are all going to a dark finish all all of their clubs, whats next? A raw finish? Cleveland has something in the works… More on that in another post.
Here is what Nike says about their new drivers:
“The aerodynamically engineered SQ Machspeed Black driver generates less drag, more speed and greater distance. It’s tapered heel geometry and toe-side aerodynamic Nike PowerBow design promotes smooth airflow around the head for quicker acceleration. Available in two head shapes – the round head offers more workability, while the square head offers more forgiveness and both deliver explosive distance. Equipped with Nike STR8-FIT eight-position adjustable technology, you can customize the club face angle for any swing to deliver all your power to the fairway.”
