Last week we posted info on the new TaylorMade R9 Driver and mentioned the R9 Fairway Wood. Rather than leave you in the dark, here is the latest on the new TaylorMade R9 Fairway Wood. The R9 Fairway Wood will feature the same FCT (Flight Control technology) as the TaylorMade R9 Driver, which allows the golfer to adjust the head postion of the fairway wood in 1 of 8 different postions. Players will have the same adjustability that Tour Pros have access to. You’ll be able to adjust your R9 fairway wood to appear open, square, or closed. With the addition of TaylorMades MVT (Moveable Weight Technology) in the R9 Fairway Wood, a player will be able to vary their ball flight up to 35 yards right to left.
The TaylorMade R9 Fairway Wood features TaylorMade’s “new classic” head shape which combines traditional looks with contemporary lines and is particularly easy to aim, and sets up beautifully behind the ball. The center of gravity on the TaylorMade R9 Fairway Wood is more than 50% lower than that of the similarly sized r7 Fairway Woods. The much lower CG makes the R9 extremely easy to launch high and long. A rounded and beveled sole also reduces turf drag on the R9.
As you would expect, there is a TaylorMade R9 TP Fairway Wood available as well. The R9 TP will feature a Fujikura Motore F1 85 gram shaft.
