The game of golf has evolved over the years. It was once a leisurely game
only played by noblemen and gentlemen who most likely did not carry their
own clubs! As golf became a popular game and private and public golf courses
began to open, many golfers would carry their own golf bags or have a caddie
who would carry their clubs. Today when you visit a golf course you are more
likely to see many people using some type of golf cart. The production of
golf cart designs is a multi-million dollar industry with a large variety of
manual golf cart styles and “golf car” models. IN THE HOLE! Golf carries
many of the manual golf cart styles that are available on the market today.
The first manual golf cart was a pull
golf cart style having two wheels with a vertical support for a golf
bag. This golf cart design had supports which were similar to a
manual dolly but with clips and holders especially adapted for golf
gear. The two-wheel pull golf cart is the traditional walking style
cart that has been around for years. A golfer while walking the
links, drags the pull golf cart behind him/her eliminating the need
to carry a golf bag. With innovative research, golf cart
manufacturers took the traditional pull golf cart concept and
evolved it into a drastically improved push golf cart model. The new
three-wheel push golf cart is designed to be pushed in front of the
golfer alleviating stress and strain on the back and shoulder
muscles. A three-wheel golf cart is easy to maneuver as it rolls
forward with a simple push. The most recent innovation in the manual
style golf cart is the electric golf cart that is similar to the
three-wheel push golf cart, but is self propelled and allows the
golfer to enjoy walking the links while totally eliminating the
strain of pushing or pulling a cart around the course. For the
golfer who prefers to take in the golfing experience the
“old-fashion” way by walking the course, yet conserve their strength
for driving the ball and putting, these new electric walking golf
cart designs are a great way to play golf.
