is the result of almost two full years of industrial design work by DesignUp
of North Vancouver, BC and the manufacturer; Hong Kong based Clicgear
Industries Ltd. In a Clicgear Cart press release on this accomplishment,
Kevin Kimberley, president and head industrial designer for DesignUp, tells
the story of an incident that was the catalyst for the creation of the
Clicgear cart. “About three years ago, I was going on a golf trip with three
friends. We all had brand new push carts and wanted to bring them with us.
We soon realized there is no way that the carts would fit in my SUV. They
were just too big and bulky so they got left behind.”
Starting with a very simple concept that
had the potential to fill a unique niche in the golf industry, the
Clicgear cart is a truly unique, full sized, three wheeled golf push
cart that folds up much smaller than any of its competitors. The
Clicgear cart is constructed of aircraft aluminum tubing, has
pneumatic tires and folds in less than five seconds. What is most
impressive about the Clicgear cart is just how small it folds down
to, going from its full size to a mere 24” x 15” x 13”. According to
Clicgear Industries Ltd, the Clicgear cart can carry any size golf
bag. Using a fraction of the storage space needed by other three
wheel carts, the Clicgear cart fits easily into trunks and club
storage lockers. Although the Clicgear cart weighs in at 18 lbs
making it easy to lift in and out of car trunks, this is a durable,
precisely engineered golf push cart built to exacting standards of
quality and finish. Additional features of the Clicgear cart include
an adjustable handle, an easy to use Posi-Lock handbrake, umbrella
