i have found it of marginal usefulness. usually you locate the ball visually before you do using the ball finder. don't think it is worth the investment for locating a ball during a round. if you are going to walk a course looking for balls it might be useful

Just received my ballfinder and was anxious to try it. The DVD spends a fair amount of time telling you about false alarms, but...
To be fair it was around noon with sunny weather (do not aim at the sun they say), with some traces of frost (do not aim at water, they say) and with broken leaves.
Well the Ball finder never stopped..vibrating. I should have been in a field of golf balls but there were none. Even if there had been one I would have probably missed it with so many flase alarms. I'll give it an other chance when the leaves are gone and the weather cloudy!
I am afraid this device is only useful (?) in ideal conditions with manucured golf fairways and neat, nicely cut grass, and.....
Let me know if I am wrong and you managed to make it work!

Doesn't work. The reflection of light makes it think it found the ball. Put a ball right in front of it, won't buzz
