Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS

Great GPS. It's a piece of piss to use. The club I'm a member at has changed the bunker positions of one of the holes and it was a doddle to change it on the unit. Love the once off subscription fee and the fact you get a whole lot more than just the front and back of the green. Definitely recommend this product to anyone.

I received the unit and had to sign up and pay for membership before I could see the courses that are available on Sonocaddie. The majority of courses I play were not on the list. I found out how to get courses mapped, if the scorecard doesn't have a sketch of the holes on it, they request you go to Google Earth, send to the Pro of the Golfcourse, have them number the holes and mail to their mapping company. One of the courses that was on it was wrong, I was on a Par 3 and it showed it was a Par 5. If you accidently get on a course that is on it and right, then it's great. If you need to contact Sonocaddie customer service, good luck, answering service after 3 pm. What a waste of time and money. It might explain why so many, including mine are on ebay.

I BOUGHT V300 TO USE IN NAPLES FLORIDA AT FOREST GLEN GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB. ALTHOUGH SONOCADDIE CLAIMED TO HAVE MAPPED THE COURSE THEIR MAPPING DID NOT MATCH THE PHYSICAL LAYOUT OF THE COURSE WITH HAZARDS SHOWN IN THE WRONG LOCATION AND YARDAGE AS MUCH AS THIRTY YARDS OFF. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEVER RESPONDED TO MY E-MAILS AND WE ARE PRESENTLY IN DISPUTE OVER THE $29.95 FEE CHARGE TO DOWN LOAD COURSES. I BELIEVE THAT A REPUTABLE COMPANY WOULD WAIVE THESE CHARGES AND OFFER TO REIMBURSE ME FOR SHIPPING AND INSURANCE COST INCURRED TO RETURN UNIT TO HOLE IN ONE GOLF. PS. HOLE IN ONE HONORED THEIR RETURN POLICY WITH NO HASSELS

I PURCHASED THE V300 FOR USE ON VACATION IN NAPLES FLORIDA AT FOREST GLEN GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB. THE MAPPED COURSE IN THE UNIT DID NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL LAYOUT OF COURSE, AND YARDAGES WERE OFF BY UP TO THIRTY YARDS FROM COURSE MARKING AND RANGE FINDER READINGS.
THE COMPANY NEVER ANSWERED MY E-MAILS AND WHEN I DID FINALLY GET THROUGH ON THE PHONE I WAS TOLD TO SEND THEM THE SCORE CARD AND THEY WOULD CORRECT THE LAYOUT. WHEN I EXPLAINED THE CARD DID NOT SHOW THE HOLE LAYOUT I WAS TOLD TO GET A MAP OF THE COURSE. IF I HAD A DETAILED MAP OF THE COURSE I WOULD NOT NEED THE V300 AND IF THEY MAP THE COURSES USING SCORE CARD GRAPHICS I QUESTION THE ACCURACY OF ANY OF THE COURSES IN THEIR DATA BASE. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM RETURNING UNIT TO IN THE HOLE GOLF.

I received this unit for my birthday. I have played 3 rounds on the same battery charge. It still shows 3/4 charge left. The color screen is very easy to see. The course layout mode is awsome. The distances are very accurate. I only found one hole that had distances that were off. It showed the distance to the front of the green longer than the back of the green. It was very easy to correct the distances. I like the ability to add reference points to the holes. Also I like the score card, shot tracker and the distance calculator. Another big plus is "NO ANNUAL FEE". My friend has a skycaddie and has to pay $50.00 per year fee. After seeing my Sonocaddie he is looking into buying one also. I highly recomend this unit. It takes the guess work out of the game.
